Over the last couple of months, I’ve been giving updates on Conner, the preemie son of a friend and former student from youth ministry, Amy. Little Conner is now 2 1/2 months old, and looking the part of his Irish heritage more and more everyday.
He’s doing very well physically, too. He’s taking all his feedings by mouth. He’s off oxygen completely now and in a step-down crib (not the isolette), but like many preemies do, he needs an apnea monitor. He was born with a club foot, but because he was so premature it has amazingly been possible to correct without surgery by taping his foot to pull it into alignment; he now has a cast for a few weeks to keep it straight. This coming week he’ll need a hernia repair surgery, which is also common for preemies. Please keep praying for this little guy!
Amy is blossoming in the role of mother, which is an absolute gift from God. Please continue to pray for her and for Kris as the time draws near that Conner can come home from the hospital. There is an incredibly complex situation at home that also needs prayer. Of course, in all their needs, God knows the details and is already at work.
