Decisions, decisions

God has plopped a generous helping of big-feeling decisions to make into my lap recently.  He knows I don’t like that, and I know he’ll speak to me through it.  His Word says so in many ways, but this, from Proverbs 3, speaks to me today:

Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
Be not wise in your own eyes;
fear the LORD, and turn away from evil.
It will be healing to your flesh
and refreshment to your bones.

The word rendered LORD in that passage is YHWH, who is I AM, Adonai, God Almighty we can call Father because of Jesus, upon whom we cast all our cares, because he cares for us.  Yeah.

What passages encourage you when big decisions have to be made?

That’s one of my ‘life’ passages, Patti.

Another that’s recently come into view is from the Genesis narrative… Sarah has laughed and God says…

Is anything too wonderful for the LORD?

    Genesis 18:14

    I love that!

    I love this prayer too…

    Ephesians 3:14-21

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth takes its name. I pray that, according to the riches of his glory, he may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through his Spirit, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love. I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

It depends on the situation. I do a lot of opening the Bible to wherever and reading. God does a lot of showing me that way. :-) He’s never led me wrong! :-)
