I’m looking forward to the AFC and NFC Championship games this weekend. In case you’re wondering, I’m picking Green Bay and New England to end up in the Super Bowl. After that, I’ll catch up with the NCAA men’s basketball situation and look to March Madness.
But I have to be honest, I’m pining away for baseball to start again, Mets baseball most of all. Once the new season starts, the process of putting The Collapse behind us starts. Pitchers and catchers report February 15 for their first workout on the 16th. Position players report to Tradition Field in Port St. Lucie, FL on the 20th for workouts starting the 21st. Their schedule of 34 spring training games starts the 28th and ends March 31. No messing around as the regular season opens on the road against St. Louis on April 1. I’m really happy I live in a cable market that carries SNY – it means I can pretty much any of the Mets games I want to.
