Leaving Stacy to hold down the fort at home, we began our vacation adventure tonight with dinner at Five Guys – Tom and Cathie had never had those yummy burgers and amazing fries, so that was experience #1. After our meal we headed out of town getting about 250 miles to our planned stop for the night near Rochester. The nice lady at the desk made sure we were put in a room in a different part of the building from the Eastern Connecticut University lacrosse team. There were a lot of them, and she said I looked like I was tired and thought ‘they’ might not want to go right to sleep. It was a nice thought! We’re settled into our room, and I even got to watch Nelson Figueroa get his first major league win as a Met before Tim and Tom switched over to the Sci-Fi Channel (it’s Friday!); and Cathie’s already asleep beside me.
We’re planning an early start in the morning, heading to Michigan via a little international excursion through Ontario, Canada (we’ll wave at the Falls for you). It looks like we have 5 hours of traveling ahead of us before all of the YMX ownership group (both families) are in the same place. I’m looking forward to seeing Adam and especially to meeting Kristen and their kids. I’m especially happy to be out of the house and having some fun together.
